Sevenoaks
Brief
To reflect the atmosphere and styles of a Mediterranean garden where the clients could relax during the warm summer months. The back garden had to retain functionality including storage, access to the rear alley, a lawn and space to bring the indoor dining table outside for summer parties.
Design Rational
A garden designed around an enclosed deck that not only provides a picture view from inside the house and the clients beauty salon, yet still retains the required functionality.
Results
A fully useable garden making the most of every part of its awkward shape. A raised deck area surrounded by curved lime rendered walls provide warmth and emphasise the feel of the Mediterranean. The contrasting dark slate paving of the lower area provides space for extra dining and links the conservatory to the garden. Plants were chosen to emphasise its Mediterranean design including elegant spires of Cypress following the curves of the lawn.
